New virtual reality headset to be among the hardware unveiled in San Francisco on Tuesday, according to Variety.
Google is expected to announce a host of new hardware at a media event on Tuesday, and its first Daydream virtual-reality headset may be among the new offerings.
The headset, which the company will reveal tomorrow morning in San Francisco, will likely cost $79, Variety reported Monday. The headset will be manufactured by HTC, the same company rumored to be making the Pixel and Pixel XL, a pair of phones Google is also expected to unveil Tuesday, according to Variety.
Unveiled in May, Daydream is a hardware and software platform running off Google’s Android mobile operating system to help any Android smartphone manufacturer create a VR headset themselves.
